hello fine people. possibly from Reddit as i'm still considering if i should post this forum on there or not.
There is a possibly little known PC from around 1991 called the Unisys CWD-4002.
It was made because of offices having space concerns and little room to work with in cubicles.
Basically the same idea as the Mac Mini from 2004 but wider and can actually use a Soundblaster 2 and is a fully functioning 486 with a tiny laptop floppy drive and no CD drive whatsoever!
It was a really cool PC but sadly there's none on eBay with that specific model number anymore as people who hoard toilet paper probably hoarded some of those too with no questions asked.
Which is really sad because i wanted one of those to sit comfortably under my Dell Ultra sharp or maybe a mid 90's SVGA monitor if i ever got one.
It had a 486 DX2 66mhz i think with 16mb of ram and most likely a dead 512mb HDD nowadays lets be real XD
It was a very capable machine and with either a good sound card or a good graphics card you could pull off some decent dos and windows 3.1 usage off it with ease.
You could build your own 486 or buy a prebuilt or get a laptop but there's an odd charm for me with this specific system in general.
Its so cramped and tiny but so powerful and cool looking (maybe)
I want one so bad but eBay seems to be at a bit of a shortage as of late.
The only one i found is a CWD-5001 and thats it, no other Unisys CWD systems are being sold led alone talked about.
I wonder if apple sued them for infringing on they're future.
Anyway. Here's an image! Have fun and possibly build one yourself? The NuXT might fit but if someone makes a Nu486 imma jump all over that!
